Department of B.VOC (IT)

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

 The department was started in the year 2017. It started a B.VOC (IT) course under the headship of Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty, Principal of B.N. College.   Only five institutions in the entire Assam offering B.Voc (IT) course. Dr. Samuel Sheikh is the coordinator of this department. Mentoring is highly is important to shape young mind for the best result. Government is very keen in this project of Vocational course, so the faculties are all UGC qualified.

Objective: 

Vocational or skill-based education is becoming more and more significant with passing time. B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocation) is an emerging course in India that aims at providing adequate skills required for a particular trade to candidates. The course is different from traditional academic programmes as it deals more with application-based studies rather than focusing on only theoretical knowledge. After this course students will be ready to get job in different fields mainly IT related.

Vision:

Bachelor of Vocational (IT), a course introduced by Assam Government under Gauhati University to create employable youth. Introduced from the session 2017-2018 B.Voc (IT) is a completely financed course by the Government. The course material is designed matching the market requirement in IT field.
