Integrated Teacher Education Programme

About Course

The Integrated Teacher Education programme (ITEP) introduced by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) is a four-year undergraduate programme designed to prepare prospective teachers by integrating both academic coursework and practical teaching experiences. This programme is an innovative structure given by NEP 2020 aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills, developing pedagogical knowledge and attitudes to effectively teach and engage students in the classroom.


This ITEP course integrated general education courses with the teacher training allow students to earn a degree with a teaching license or certification. ITEP is not only enhances the quality of teacher education but also contributes significantly to the overall improvement of educational standards in school.


B. N. College(Autonomous), Dhubri is going to introduce four-year integrated teacher education programme (ITEP) for the academic year 2025-26. The students who opt for teaching as their career after completing secondary education will be eligible to take the four years ITEP course. The advantage of this course is that (BA B.Ed and B.Sc. B.Ed) it permits them to finish their dual degree within four years instead of five years and make them qualified for teaching profession.

Fee Structure

B N College (Autonomous), Dhubri is a Degree College established in 1946 and is presently offering Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Vocational courses aligned with curriculum of the affiliating university (Gauhati University). As UGC has conferred Autonomous Status to this institute in July, 2024, so from the session 2024-25 the curriculum developed by the institute will be implimented. From the academic session 2025-26 our college will offer four year integrated B.A. B.Ed & BSc. B.Ed (Secondary) only after receiving the grant of recognition for Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) under clause 7(13) of NCTE Regulations, 2014 and the fee structure will be decided as per rules of the Government of Assam and Management Committee of the College accordingly.
