Department of Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 2007. Since inception the Department has been creating manpower in diverse areas of biotechnology. The Department has the autonomy to chalk out teaching plans as per the syllabus prescribed by Gauhati University and also to select candidates for admission into U.G Course.

Objective.

To conduct academic programs for B.Sc. in Biotechnology (General) through up-to-date curricula to develop trained manpower in the areas of Biotechnology, Microbiology. 

Mission. 

To impart education in the area of Biotechnology, Immunology, Plant biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and to develop highly trained manpower for facing global challenges in the field of Biotechnology and to create awareness among the society to harness the benefits of modern biotechnological innovation.
