Department of History

Department of History, B.N.College, Dhubri came into existence in 1946 to impart quality education and emphasis is also on imparting a discipline value based education. The present strength of students are about 150 and the Department has a library of around 200 (two hundred) books, one computer, a printer, internet connection facilities etc. The long term mission is to increase the popularity of History among the students and also involving the students to explore the history of the region. The main objectives of our Department is to impart knowledge on the society, culture, religion and polity of ancient, medieval and modern India as well as north-east India through discussion, seminar, quizzing and also the way of information and communication technology. Our course is designed in such a manner as to provide better knowledge of Europe in ancient, medieval and modern age and also the history of far-east Asia. In order to all round development of students our Department always encourages students to actively join in co-curricular activities to make them perfect and become responsible citizen of India.
