Library Sections
- Stack Area: This area is consisted of 32 stacks. Students can visit the stacks and collect their important books.
- Reading Room: Almost all the area in top floor of the library is covered by reading room.
- Technical Section: It is a most important section of a library. This section is responsible for processing of books. Classification, Cataloguing, barcoding and other technical process are included in this section.
- Circulation Section: For circulation section we use SOUL 2.0 library software (developed by INFLIBNET centre, Ahmadabad) Students can issue, return, renew and reserve books from this section.
- Book Bank Section: The book bank facility is only for SC, ST, OBC category and economically poor students. Maximum no. of 2 (two) books are provided to each student.
- Back-Volume Section: Old issues of journals and newspapers are bounded and kept in a separate place in a classified order.
- Magazine & Newspaper display Section: Magazines and newspapers have been displayed separately on display rack near reading tables. There are total 11 no. of newspapers (Assamese, English and Hindi) and 14 no. of magazines are displayed in that area.
- Reference Section: The reference section is situated in the ground floor of the library building. Various valuable books of different subjects are available in reference section. Users are not allowed to borrow books from this section. A separate shelf for Holi books and a corner of Swami Vivekananda also present in this section.
- Journal Section: In ground floor near reference stacks journal section is available. There are 17 (seventeen) number of printed journals are available in the library.
- Internet Section: In the top floor of the library building, Internet section is organized. Total no. of 13 computers are provided in this section.
- New Arrival Display: Newly processed books are kept at a prominent place for one week or more to attract and to bring these to the notice of the users.
- Special Section: The library has a very special section which called Indigenous tools. Where all the traditional and rare tools used by the local people are displayed.
- Digital Library Section: The SNT Library has a digital section named Shew Narain Tantia Digital Library. In this digital library, SNT library provides various e-resources like Newspaper Clipping, E-Questionpaper, Theses and dissertations of the college faculty, Research articles of the college faculty etc.
